220V DC POWER SUPPLY
Our 2 kW Power Supply.
(Size 21″ x 16″ x 14″ – Weight approximately 110 lbs.)
This has been designed and constructed by Steven Brooke who also kindly donated the Main Transformer.
As mentioned elsewhere the original Bombes were powered by Mercury Arc Rectifiers from a three-phase AC supply. Health and Safety considerations make this impractical in the 21stcentury. We have therefore built a unit using modern semi-conductor rectifiers to which has been added a DC version of an earth leakage trip. This unit only required a single-phase supply and has power in reserve to drive a single Bombe
