The two images above show completed commutators. These were made in sets of three with an additional hub spacer for the top, fast position. We built around one set of three commutators per week. 36 sets plus 4 for our Checking Machine and many spares are now complete and fitted. For the next stage of the operation please see:-

We start with the four different sizes of brass stud. These were made commercially. With 26 of each type per commutator and more than 115 plus spare commutators to make, over 14,000 parts were manufactured. This was somewhat more than out team could handle.
